If you had been waiting to get your hands on or purchase the Apple iPhone 6S, which was launched this year, then this Christmas Season is probably the best time for you to make the purchase. Just before the festivities start, the Cupertino-based company has decided to lower the prices of their newly launched iPhone 6S / 6S Plus in India. This can be looked as a step to counter the declining sales of the latest iPhones in India, which is among the fastest growing smartphone markets in the world.
This year India became the most expensive country to buy the iPhone, due to which the sales of the new iPhones have been as Apple had expected and moreover the sales died following an upsurge in November during the Diwali festival.
Now hoping to better the declining sales, Apple has cut the price of its latest iPhone 6s and 6s Plus by as high as 24 percent from their original price tags. Apple launched the iPhone 6s models in October and the base 16GB model carried a price tag of Rs. 62,000, and this is now available online for a price as low as Rs. 46,999. The highest model iPhone 6s Plus (128 GB), which was earlier available at Rs. 92,000 is now available at Rs. 83,545 on various online shopping websites.

This will also attract the existing users of last year’s iPhone 6 to upgrade to the latest variants as the price difference between the two models has now come down considerably. A Senior executive of one of the national retailer said, “The price difference between the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s was a lot, so many customers are not willing to upgrade to the new model.” So, if you have been waiting for the prices of the latest iPhones to go down, then this is the time for you, as we cannot tell for sure if these prices are only for the festive season.
