Asus Zenfone Max Specification and Price

Asus today launched it large battery smartphone Asus Zenfone Max in India at price tag 9,999/-. The smartphone houses a larger 5000mAh battery, that can even be used as a stand alone, go everywhere power bank that can be used to power up other devices.

UPDATE – The company has now launched an updated version of the Zenfone Max mobile phone that comes with some welcome upgrades over its predecessor. The updated Zenfone Max Z010D comes with an updated processor and GPU i.e. 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 with Adreno 405 GPU. With this, it comes running the latest Android v6.0 Marshmallow and it offers double the amount of internal storage (32GB).

The new Asus Zenfone Max is quite different from the previous Asus Zenfone smartphones, firstly, it has a faux leather back compared to the typical rounded matte plastic back that we saw on the earlier Zenfones. Asus has also done away with the rear physical key. The smartphone though housing a large 5000mAh battery, is pretty thin (considering the 5000mAh battery). In order to get access to the SIM card and microSD card slots, the back cover will have to be removed.

On the front, the Asus Zenfone Max sports a large 5.5 inch HD IPS display. The display has a resolution of 720pixels and pixel density of 267 ppi, which is pretty low considering today’s standards. The display of the smartphone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

Under the hood, the Asus Zenfone Max will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 processor that will be clocked at 1.2 GHz. The chipset will be supported by 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM and Adreno 306 / 405 GPU for graphics. With this, it will offer 16GB of internal storage and 5GB of free ASUS WebStorage for lifetime.

In the photography department, Zenfone Max sports a 13MP PixelMaster camera on the rear, which has a 5 element f/2.0 aperture lens, and is supported with dual color Real Tone LED flash. With this, Asus has also included laser autofocus that helps in quicker focusing and accurate distance reading. On the front, the smartphone features a 5 MP secondary camera having f/2.0 aperture lens.

The Asus Zenfone Max comes running the latest version of Asus’ own ZenUI over Android 5.1 Lollipop. Coming to the most stand out feature of the Asus Zenfone Max, the 5000mAh battery. According to the company claims, the Zenfone Max will offer 37.6 hours of talk time on 3G and standby time of as large as 5 days.

The smartphone will be available on the e-commerce website Flipkart and Amazon at Rs. 9,999/- in two color variants of black and white.
