Chinese smartphone maker Gionee will soon be launching a new smartphone in the indian market and it could well be the cheapest smartphone in India to feature the USP – Type C port. The Gionee Elife S Plus will most probably be released in the next few weeks and it will be priced at Rs.16,999 and will be the first smartphone from Gionee with USB Type C. The Gionee Elife S Plus has an impressive spec sheet and it Gionee will want it to reclaim Gionee’s lost glory as the company has not been able to experience the same sales as it did when they debuted with their initial product lineup in 2013.
The reason for this not so good performance by Gionee lately can be the Chinese smartphone makers who have come up with various low priced phones sporting nice specifications and features. The Gionee Elife S Plus at Rs. 16,999 could well be the cheapest phone sporting USB Type C in India, the present cheapest being the OnePlus 2 that comes at a price of Rs. 24,999.
Gionee Elife S Plus Launch in India Very Soon with 5.5 inch Display
Coming to the specifications of the Gionee Elife S Plus, the smartphone will sport a 5.5 inch AMOLED display having HD resolution that will be protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The phone will be powered by an octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor and this will be supported by 3GB of RAM. The Elife S Plus phone will come packed with 16GB of internal storage and will have the option of expanding the storage using a microSD card.
In the camera department, the back of the Gionee Elife S Plus will sport a 13MP camera and a single-LED flash and on the front the phone will have a 5MP selfie shooter. The Gionee Elife S Plus comes packed with a 3,150mAh battery and this will be charged through a USB Type C Port.
The Gionee Elife S Plus be running the Amigo OS 3.1 on top of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The phone will support 4G LTE and will have dual SIM capability. The phone will be priced at Rs. 16,999 ($260).
