As expected the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Gionee unveiled its latest mid-range beautiful smartphone the Gionee Elife S6 on Monday, 16th November in China. The S – series of Gionee smartphones are particularly famous for their slim designs. The Elife S6 is the fourth addition in the Elife S series, the three successors being Elife S7, Elife S5.1 and the Elife S5.5.
The previous smartphones in the S series featured a glass back, but Gionee has gone with the sleek and good looking metal unibody design in the Elife S6. The smartphone has minimal bezels and is just 6.9mm thick. According to the claims made by Gionee the Elife S6 has a great display to glass ratio of 77.8 %. The Gionee Elife S6 will be available in two variants – platinum and gold.

Let’s now have a look at what does the Gionee S6 has to offer – the smartphone has a 5.5 inch AMOLED display on the front having a resolution of 720p. Under the hood, the smartphone is backed by the octa-core MediaTek MT6753 SoC that is clocked at 1.3GHz and it has the Mali T-720 GPU to support it. The phone has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory option. The memory capacity is further expandable using a microSD card. The smartphone has decent cameras too, it has a 13 MP shooter on the back and on the front it has a 5 MP selfie camera.
The Gionee Elife S6 has a hybrid second SIM slot, which means that he user can either use dual SIM or he can choose to use one SIM and the microSD card as we saw in the OnePlus X. In the connectivity options, the HTC One X9 offers 4G LTE support, USB Type-C connector, and the phone is powered by the 3150mAh battery. The phone runs Gionee’s own AMIGO OS on top of Android’s v5.1 Lollipop.
The Gionee Elife S6 smartphone have been officially announced in China and the registrations for the device has already started. The smartphone has been priced at CNY 1699 that is approximately equal to Rs 17,300. Gionee has not yet made any announcements about the availability of the device in markets outside China.
