The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Huawei, has officially launched the special collector’s edition of the Google Nexus 6P in India, this comes just days before the festive season of Christmas starts. Huawei will want to reap in the benefits of the festival season by launching the special edition smartphone around this time.

The collector’s edition Nexus 6P model flaunts a golden metal body and it comes at a price tag of Rs. 1000 more compared to the standard grey and silver variants of the Nexus 6P, at Rs 43,999. Huawei also announced that this Gold Edition of Nexus 6P will be available only in the storage capacity of 64GB, and this will up for orders on the online shopping website Flipkart, starting on 21 December.  It must be noted that the latest Special Edition Nexus 6P is the same as the standard variant and except the color all other hardware and software features are the same.

The Huawei-manufactured Google Nexus 6P smartphone have enjoyed a good response in the Indian smartphone market compared to the Nexus 5X. The Nexus 5X got a huge price cut last month, on the other hand the Nexus 6P continues to sell at the same price tag.

Allen Wang, the President of Huawei India, said during the announcement of Nexus 6P Gold Edition in India – “The Huawei Nexus 6P has been well received by the Indian audience and keeping in mind the niche target group, we have introduced the Gold color Special Edition of the smartphone. At Huawei, we use the cutting-edge manufacturing technique combined with latest and innovative software technology to provide the best-in-class product.”


Let us just revise what does the Nexus 6P have to offer, the smartphone features a 5.7 inch QHD display having a resolution of 2546 ×1440 pixels. The smartphone is packed with Snapdragon 810 processor and that is coupled with 3GB of RAM space. The Nexus 6P is available in two storage variants in India – 32GB and 64GB and it runs the latest Android Marshmallow. It also houses a fingerprint scanner on the back of the smartphone below the 12.3MP camera sensor, on the front it has a 5MP sensor. The smartphone is fuelled by a 3450 mAh battery that supports fast charging and it also features a USB Type-C Port.
