The smartphone company co-founded by the ex-Apple CEO John Sculley, Obi Worldphone, is once again entering the Indian smartphone with the new, Obi Worldphone SF1 smartphone. The company, is presently working on expanding its reach in the important markets for the smartphone business with the release of some good value for money smartphones and as such they could not have ignored the Indian market.

The company will be launching the recently unveiled smartphone line up in India in a few days. Obi Worldphone has in a press statement revealed their plans to unveil the Obi Worldphone SF1 in India in November. The company also stated that they have launched the Obi Worldphone SF1 and the Obi Worldphone SJ1.5 in Vietnam and Dubai recently.


Obi Worldphone SF1 Confirmed to Launch in India in November

The Obi Worldphone SF1 had gone on sale just the previous month in two variants – the first featured 2GB of RAM with 16GB of internal storage and it had the expected price of $199 (Rs. 13,000 approx), and the second has 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage and it is priced at $249 (Rs. 16,500 approx). The second smartphone Obi Worldphone SJ1.5, was launched at a price of $129 (Rs. 8,500 approx).


The Obi WorldPhone SF1 has an unibody design with floating display and it has metallic accents. The phone features a 5-inch display having full HD resolution and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Under the hood the SF1 is powered by the Octa core Snapdragon 615 processor, coupled with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage. In the camera department the phone has a 13MP Sony IMX214 primary camera and on the front it has a 5MP secondary shooter and both are supported by Flash. The phone is backed up by a 3,000mAh battery.


The other smartphone Obi Worldphone SJ1.5 is a slightly lighter version of the SF1 with a 5 inch HD display and having the quad core MediaTek processor under the hood along with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. The phone features a 8MP shooter in the front and 5MP front snapper and is fuelled by a 3,000mAh.

The two smartphones run the custom made Lifespeed UI on top of Android Lollipop. Both the smartphones are expected to hit the Indian market at budget prices with the SF1 expected around Rs. 15,000 and the SJ1.5 to be priced around Rs. 8,500.
