The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Oppo, launched their camera-centric smartphone Oppo F1 in the Indian market on the 28th January. The smartphone emphasizes on the performance of the selfie camera, but does it stand out from the other camera-centric smartphones in the market, we will find out in this Oppo F1 First Impression, Oppo F1 Review, and Oppo F1 Phone Rating.

Oppo F1 Review: Full Phone Review and Rating 8/10

Oppo F1 Full Phone Review and Rating

BUILD AND DESIGN Review: Oppo has done a commendable job in keeping the Oppo F1 smartphone in the budget segment at a price tag of Rs. 15,990 and at the same time they have not compromised with the looks and build of the smartphone. The Oppo F1 sports a metal build and it offers a premium finish. The front of the smartphone though might fail to impress with its huge bezels. Even with a 5-inch display the screen-to-body ratio is around  67%. But overall the Oppo F1 will not let you down at all, other than being slim, the phone is lightweight and this adds to the easy handling of the smartphone. The smartphone is only 7.3mm thick and it feels really light at 134g.

Oppo F1 Display, Processor, User Interface Review & Rating: 8.5/10

Oppo F1 Display Review and Rating

DISPLAY Review: On the front, the Oppo F1 houses a 5-inch IPS HD display on the front with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels  that translates to a pixel density of 294 ppi. The display is protected by 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4 coating.  The HD display of the Oppo F1 offers good color reproduction and it offers nice viewing angles.

PROCESSOR Review: The pretty looking smartphone Oppo F1 has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor enclosed inside its premium-looking exterior. The processor has four cores clocked at 1.7GHz and other four cores at 1.2GHz. The processor is coupled with Adreno 405 GPU for graphics and with that it has 3GB LPDDR3 RAM to offer nice multi tasking. These specs may not be the best among the ones we have seen in a smartphone but considering the Oppo F1 price tag these specs look perfect and though not the best, the processor is capable enough to handle all the daily tasks thrown at it easily.

USER INTERFACE Review: The Oppo F1 smartphone runs Oppo’s own ColorOS 2.1 over the Android v5.1 Lollipop.

Oppo F1 Camera Review: Best ‘Selfie Expert’ Smartphone (Rating 9/10)

Oppo F1 Camera Review and Rating

Camera Review: Moving on to the main USP of the Oppo F1 smartphone, its cameras. The smartphone houses a 13MP primary camera on the rear side having an aperture of f/2.2 and coupled with single LED flash. On the front, the Oppo F1 ‘Selfie Expert’, houses an 8MP front camera with a wide f/2.0 aperture. The camera on the Oppo F1 also offers software features such as Beautify 3.0, 8 live color filters, among others. The smartphone also offers screen flash that helps to click selfies in low light conditions. I was very impressed by how the camera of the Oppo F1 performed. We will get you more details about the Oppo F1 Camera Review in some time.

STORAGE Review: The Oppo F1 offers onboard storage space of 16GB, which can be further expanded upto 128GB using a microSD  card. The smartphone also comes supporting OTG.

BATTERY Review: The Oppo F1 smartphone is fuelled by a 2500mAh battery which is non-removable. The battery of the Oppo F1 though could have been of larger capacity than this.

Oppo F1 Phone Rating

PROS:

  • Nice Looks and Build
  • 13 MP, f / 2.2, phase detection autofocus, LED flash
  • 8 MP, f / 2.0, 1/4 “sensor size, 1080p

CONS:

  • Low Battery
  • Price could have been lower

It’s time for the Oppo F1 Review Final Verdict:

My Verdict: After doing this entire Oppo F1 Review I have mixed feelings about this smartphone. The Oppo F1 though very impressive fails to impress in the price segment as I feel that the smartphone must be a bit low priced. But the smartphone delivers really good results in the camera department and you will not be disappointed if a good camera smartphone is what you are looking for in this Oppo F1.
