We had earlier informed you that Xiaomi was all set to launch a new smartphone in the Indian market and that as earlier expected, will not be the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Prime. Xiaomi has finally taken the wraps from over the new smartphone, which is dubbed as Xiaomi Redmi
Note Prime and it goes on sale on Amazon India and Xiaomi’s website mi.com.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime will be the company’s second smartphone (after Redmi 2 Prime) under the ‘Make in India’ campaign and it will be manufactured in collaboration with Foxconn Technology Group in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh.

The Redmi Note Prime seems like an improved version of their earlier Redmi Note 4G, the Redmi Note Prime sports a 5.5 inch HD IPS display that has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and a pixel density of 267 ppi. The smartphone is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor that is clocked at 1.2GHz and is coupled with 2GB of RAM space and Adreno-306 GPU. In terms of storage space, the Redmi Note Prime offers 16GB of internal storage and it can be further expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.


In the camera department, the smartphone houses a 13MP primary camera on the rear and on the front it has a 5MP secondary camera. The Redmi Note Prime runs the latest MIUI 7 which is based on Android v4.4 Kitkat. The smartphone offers all the important connectivity options like dual-SIM, dual standby, 4G LTE, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, hotspot functionality, FM radio, microUSB 2.0, and USB-OTG. The Redmi Note Prime is backed up by 3100mAh lithium-polymer battery that is claimed to provide 38 hours of talk time and 775 hours of standby time.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime will carry a price tag of Rs. 8,499 and it will be exclusively available on Amazon and Mi.com.
