There are a large number of people who miss the 4-inch sized iPhones, the last of which was the iPhone 5S. But there might just be a good news for the 4 inch iPhone fans. In an investment note released by a very reliable source for Apple proceedings, the KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has claimed that the tech giant Apple who recently released the iPhone 6S is working on a new 4 inch model of the iPhone.
According to Kuo, the new 4 inch iPhone will look like an upgraded iPhone 5s and it will also feature the A9 processor that we recently saw in the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus. Not much has been said about the design of the phone but he did give a clue that seeing the popularity of the iPhone 5S over the plastic bodied iPhone 5C, the new phone will feature an all metal body.
Apple Likely to Launch New 4-inch iPhone Next Year with A9 CPU
But sadly the new iPhone is not expected to feature the 3D touch feature in order to keep it in a different line than the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. With all probability, the new 4 inch iPhone will be launched by Apple in the first half next year and will ship 23-30 million units of it by the year end.
Kuo also added that this will not make an impact on the usual third-quarter unveiling and releasing of its flagship iPhones. Kuo also predicted the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus to carry on the 4.7 inch and 5.5-inch sizes and twill be powered by the next A10 chip.
What did come as fishy was that he predicted the RAM size on the iPhone 7 Plus to be increased to 3GB but the RAM size on the iPhone 7 is expected to stay stable on 2GB.
Foxconn is believed to be only manufacturer of the 4 inch iPhone and the A9 Chip for it will be only produced by TSMC.
Kuo chose not to make any comment about the iPhone 7 featuring a dustproof and waterproof design.
