HTC, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturing firm has announced its brand new smartphone dubbed as HTC Desire 650. Earlier, this device is known as Desire A17. The newly launched handset looks like the Desire 630, and it is an affordable device. The new HTC Desire 650 is a mid-range smartphone that comes with interesting design patterns. It sports a polycarbonate layer with a textured finish on the bottom rear of the device. The company’s branding logo, power button, and rear camera module will come in Yellow and Blue color respectively.
Coming to the HTC Desire 650 specifications and features. The newly launched GSM-based handset flaunts a 5-inches LCD HD display having a resolution of 1280*720 pixels. It is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass laid on the top. Dimensionally, it measures a 146.9 x 70.9 x 8.4 mm and weighs 140 grams.
Under the hood, the Desire 650 is driven by an unknown Snapdragon processor; we expect this to be the Snapdragon 210 SoC clocked at 1.1GHz along with Adreno 304 GPU coupled with a 2GB of RAM. On the software end, it runs on Android 6.0 based Marshmallow operating system out of the box with HTC Sense 8 UI laid on top. It is also expected that the recently launched device will be upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat. For the storage, it houses a 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable up to 2TB via microSD card slot expansion.
Concerning to the optics department, the HTC Desire 650 camera section is equipping a 13MP camera at the rear end along with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture.On the other hand, it is loaded with a 5-megapixel camera on the front with a f/2.8 aperture for the selfies and video calling. It also includes the Boomsound stereo speakers. To power the entire smartphone, it is packed up with a 2200mAh battery; that is rated to deliver up to 17.5 hours of talk time and lasts up to 28.5 days on standby mode. For the connectivity, the dual SIM enabled smartphone includes 4G LTE, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, NFC, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, A-GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port.
As for the costing, the mid-range specification based HTC Desire 650 price is set at NT$ 5,490 (approx $172 / RS. 11,800) in Taiwan. The handset will be available over the next few weeks.
