Indian smartphone manufacturer Lava has come up with two new entry-level smartphones in India named, Lava Iris Atom and Lava Iris Atom 3 on Tuesday. With this the company further expands their range of low price smartphones. The Iris Atom and the Iris Atom 3 smartphones are launched at a price tag of Rs 4,249 and Rs 4,899 respectively.
The main difference between the two smartphones is in their screen sizes, the Lava Iris Atom sports a 4-inch display and the second smartphone Lava Iris Atom 3 flaunts a larger 5-inch display. The smaller display comes with a WVGA 800X480 resolution while the one with the 5-inch screen has a FWVGA 854X480 resolution display.
Both Lava Iris Atom and Lava Iris Atom 3 smartphones are powered by a Quad Core Processor that is clocked at 1.3 GHz, this is supported with 512MB of RAM, which seems pretty low by today’s standards. Both the smartphones come packed with 8GB of internal storage. The storage space can be further expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card. The two Lava Iris smartphones come running the Android v5.1 Lollipop OS with additional features such as Smart Gesture Control.

The rear camera on both the smartphones is a 5 MP one and it can click panoramic and HDR pictures too. Both the smartphones have front cameras but the one on the Lava Iris Atom 3 is a 1MP sensor and the one on the Iris Atom is VGA.
The smaller Lava Iris Atom smartphone is fuelled by a 1550 mAh Li-ion battery and the larger smartphones Iris Atom 3 comes backed with a 2000 mAh Li-ion battery.
Coming to the smart gesture feature in the two smartphones, this allows a user to launch any application from the locked screen. The pricier phone between the two, Iris Atom 3 offers a lot more with its enhanced features. It comes with the video PIP feature that allows the user to multitask while he runs a video in the background.
These two latest Lava smartphones will be available in two color variants of white and black and they will be available for purchase across e-commerce websites, all national retail stores, and multibrand outlets.
The two new Lava smartphones – Iris Atom and Iris Atom 3 – are pretty basic devices and are aimed at the first time smartphone users and at the same time wanting a decent looking handset, with big screen and good Android experience.
