The Indian smartphone manufacturer Micromax yesterday released the successor to its Canvas Flagships the Micromax Canvas 5.
The smartphone is priced at Rs. 11,999 at which it is directly pitted against the best sellers in this price segment – Moto G (3rd Gen) and Xiaomi Mi4i. - Comparison between PRICE
Each of the three smartphones are competitively priced, the newest among the three, the Micromax Canvas 5 is priced at Rs. 11,999, the Xiaomi is presently being sold at a price of Rs. 12,999 for the 16GB variant and at Rs. 14,999 for the 32GB variant. The third in the list, Moto G is priced at Rs. 11,999 for the 8GB internal storage variant and at Rs. 12,999 for the 16GB one.
- Comparison between DISPLAY
The Micromax Canvas 5 has a 5.2 inch IPS that has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, the phone has a pixel density of 423 ppi and with that 450 nits brightness, the screen of the Canvas 5 is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The Xiaomi Mi 4i features a 5 inch IPS LCD display having a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels with pixel density of 441ppi and also protected by Corning glass.
The Moto G (3rd Gen) sports a 5 inch IPS LCD display like the Xiaomi Mi4i but with a lower resolution of 720×1280 pixels. But just like the other two devices the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The Micromax Canvas 5 is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 Octa Core processor, clocked at 1.3GHz, with this it has 450MHz Mali-T720 MP2 GPU and this is well supported with 3GB of RAM.
The Xiaomi Mi 4i is powered by a 1.7 GHz, Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 processor and is paired with 2GB of RAM and a Adreno 405 GPU.
The Moto G (3rd Gen) from Motorola on the other hand is powered by the 1.4 GHz, Quad Core, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 processor and has Adreno 306 GPU. The phone comes in both 1GB and 2GB RAM variants.
- Comparison between STORAGE
The Micromax Canvas 5 comes with 16GB of internal storage and offers the option to expand the storage upto 64GB using a microSD card.
The Xiaomi Mi 4i comes in 16GB and 32GB internal storage options but it does not have the microSD expandable storage option.
The Moto G (3rd Gen) also comes in two storage options of 8GB and 16GB but it does have the expandable storage option upto 32GB.

The three smartphones that we are comparing here all offer the same 13 MP camera on the rear and on the front they have the same 5 MP secondary camera. The difference between the three cameras being that the camera on the latest Micromax Canvas 5 features Samsung 3M2 sensor and PDAF. It also has a flash on the front of the device to support it.

The Micromax Canvas 5 runs the Android v5.1 Lollipop, the Xiaomi runs the MIUI 6.0 on top of the Android v5.0.2 and the Motorola Moto G (3rd Gen) runs the stock version of the Android v5.1.1 with few Motorola Apps and it has also been promised an update to the latest Android v6.0 Marshmallow.

The Micromax Canvas 5 houses a 2,900mAh battery, the Xiaomi Mi 4i has a 3,120mAh one and the Moto G (3rd Gen) is packed with a 2,470mAh battery. All the three batteries are non-removable ones.

All the three smartphones have similar connectivity options. The thing that goes in the favor of the Moto G(3rd Gen) is that it is IPX7 certified, (water resistant up to 1 meter upto 30 minutes).
