Upcoming Smartphones 2015: The year 2015 has so far seen a number of Smartphone launches already but the best is in store for the end of 2015 and early 2016. - iPhone 6S/6S Plus:
The series of new smartphone releases will be kick started to release of the new Apple iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus. The official announcements are scheduled for 9 September 2015. The new iPhones will be running the brand-new iOS 9 and will go on sale from September 18 most probably.
The basic looks of the devices remain the same. The iPhone 6s will feature a faster A9 processor, but with 2GB RAM only. The camera sees a major jump, with an improved 12-megapixel camera on the back and a 5MP camera on the front. In the 6S, Apple has used the less bendable 7000 Series of aluminum shell, they have incorporated force touch earlier seen in the Apple Watch, Touch ID sees improvement, and the addition of a new color option – Rose Gold.
The September 9 event is clearly something to look forward to.
- Xiaomi Mi5:
There have been a lot of speculations, but Xiaomi has not yet come up with any announcements about a confirmed launch date for its next flagship, the Mi 5. Some rumors now suggest that the Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi may showcase the Mi5 during its event on September 24.
Xiaomi has managed to not let slip out much information about the Mi5 but the few rumor mills have it that the handset will sport a 5.7-inch QHD display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM.
Predictions also have it that the Mi 5 will have a 16MP camera on the rear and an 8MP camera on the front. The latest teaser pictures teased the inclusion of a fingerprint scanner and a Note 5 type curved back. We can wait for the Mi5 to be announced officially and it is clearly one of the most anticipated phones among the best upcoming smartphones.
- LG Nexus 5 2015 and Huawei Nexus 6 2015
Lately we have been seeing many leaks of the new Nexus devices from Google. After the silent performance of last ears Nexus 6, Google has been working with both LG and Huawei on two brand new Nexus devices. With Huawei on the new Nexus 6 phablet and with LG on the successor to the 2013s Nexus 5.
The Nexus 5 from LG is rumored to feature a metal body, a full-HD P-OLED, 5.2inches screen, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 CPU. The Nexus 5 is said to have a rear fingerprint scanner and use the USB Type-C charging port.
The Nexus 6 from Huawei seems to be more capable of the two. It is said to sport a Quad HD, 5.7inches AMOLED display, a unibody metal chassis. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and feature a fingerprint scanner will most probably power it, with a 21MP camera on the rear.
It will be interesting to see the official spec of the two upcoming mobile phones in 2015.
- Sony Xperia Z5 Family
Sony displayed not one, but three flagship smartphones in Berlin at the IFA viz. The Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 and the Xperia Z5 Premium. The three smartphones feature the old, tried and tested OmniBalance design and bodies which are waterproof, but with the addition of a fingerprint sensor to the side power button on the three models.
The Z5 Premium, the Z5, and the Z5 Compact come with 5.5 inch, 5.2 inch and a 4.6-inch displayed respectively. The three devices feature different screen resolutions too, the Z5 Premium features the world’s first ever Smartphone 4K display (a whopping 806ppi), the Z5 sticks with 1080p screen and the Z5 Compact keep it low at 720p. All the three upcoming phones come with an improved camera.
- Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL
The Microsoft Lumia 950 (Talkman) and the 950 XL (Cityman) will be the first Windows Phones to run Windows 10 and it is one of the primary reasons why this phone has got us excited.
The Lumia 950 will offer some hardcore specs on any Windows Smartphone, the XL will be the larger version with a 5.7 inches screen. Microsoft is expected to reveal the two devices in an October 2015 launch.
The differences between the Lumia 650 and Lumia 650 XL will be a larger screen and battery, in addition to that an upgraded cameras on the XL.
